The Westward Ho is such an icon here in Phoenix. When it was built in 1928 it was the tallest building in the west until 1960. It was very popular in its heyday and often celebrities would stay here. These days it is an apartment complex.

In downtown Phoenix this park stands and houses a very unique art installation. Most known around phoenix as the Light Tornado by people, "Her secret is patience" (artist: Janet Echelman) calls Civic Space Park home. Come check it out!

Did you know: Chase Tower is the tallest building in the state of Arizona. Built in 1972, it has no normal entrance on the ground floor. Instead entry is done through a nearby retail and restaurant concourse that is underground.

As I drove past here this place caught my attention. Living in big cities, having one small local store that might run out of something, is unfathomable. It's a nice change of pace and perfect getaway for when city life gets overwhelming.

Another beautiful mural from #chicanopark in #SanDiego. If you go around you see their faces and the phrase is translated to Spanish and under the phrase is the powerful Aguila con la Serpeinte.
